Of course, there will always be Sidewalks moving according to the many physical factors such as ground settling, freeze-thaw cycles in areas other than San Diego, and Tree Roots lifting the sidewalks, as well as simple wear and tear or errosion of the concrete itself. Bottom line: there will always be a need to "Fine Tune" the sidewalks and eliminate the Stub-Toe Trip Hazards whenever they occur. Sidewalk Saving is an on-going process. This makes it worthwhile for every property manager to have a set of Sidewalk Saver Equipment available to grind the sidewalks as soon as it becomes necessary. GRIND IT! CUT IT! FIX IT! Comment on Sidewalk Savers, the GREEN SOLUTION! by sidewalker http://sidewalksaver.com/blog1/sidewalk-savers-the-green-solution/comment-page-1/#comment-173 sidewalker Fri, 16 Nov 2007 17:14:48 +0000 http://sidewalksaver.com/blog1/sidewalk-savers-the-green-solution/#comment-173 CRACK REPAIR - A Stitch in Time! During our repair of the Driveway Apron, we identified a crack in an adjoining Sidewalk block that we simply could not resist repairing. We used our 4.5" Crack Chasing Wheel on the Jepson Grinder with the 5" Dust Muzzle and Cover Plate to open up the Crack for patching. We then switched to a single 5" Dry Cut Turbo Saw Blade to open the bottom of the groove in order for the concrete patch to be mechanically held in place. Nice! Just as with our Driveway Apron, we vacuumed and Power washed, actually at the same time, followed by brushing our concrete bonding adhesive on the opening prior to applying our concrete patch. A few minutes and this quick side job was done. Grind It! Cut It! Fix It! Sidewalker. CRACK REPAIR – A Stitch in Time!

We are getting calls from people who are looking for workers to provide Sidewalk Saving as a Service. Perhaps it is time to add the names of qualified Construction Workers to the List of Sidewalk Savers as they fill in this Construction Dead Time. They quoted Mr. Julio Hallack, the subject of the story, as saying: "There is so much concrete to be restored. It is a multibillion-Dollar Industry." The Sidewalk Savers approach will quite simply make sure that the task gets started on the sidewalks level and that more can be accomplished with limited dollars.
